On 24th July 2015 Peter Adam Smith departed Dumfries, Scotland in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for circumnavigating the globe by bicycle and complete this journey in under 100 days. Supported by 3 young volunteers to make sure everything ran smoothly. The route consisted of 13 countries, travelling East to West, through Europe> Russia> Kazakhstan> China …….? This exhibition, by one of those volunteers, Sam Finch, from Dumfries, is a documentary of Smith’s attempt to cycle the world. Finch’s work captures the grandeur of the landscape traversed, the pain, the loneliness of Smith’s attempt and the everyday process of this epic journey.
