TALK

The Scottish Photobook, from the 1860's to Present Day

Special Collections, University of St Andrews

02 Sep 12.00 - 1.00pm

Daryl Green, Rare Books Librarian (St Andrews), will host an informal lunchtime talk about the importance of the photobook genre to Scottish photography ranging from the earliest day of photographic illustrations in publications, to the impact on social reform through documentary photography prevalent in the mid-20th century, to the newest wave of Scottish photographers using the photobook genre to communicate their work. This talk will be held in the Napier Reading Room, in Martyrs Kirk (North Street), and will be hosted with a wide selection of the Special Collections Division’s photobook collection, offering a unique experience to both discuss this medium and to take a close look with books in-hand. This event is free.

Featured as part of the St Andrews Photography Festival.
