Travelling the Archive reimagines a time and place in Kyleakin’s past, for future audiences. It shares the 1960’s heritage of Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye, through a series of 35mm slides taken by seasonal visitor Miss Joan Wilcock. Nicky Bird worked closely with the community uncovering stories and memories. Her research formed the basis of a series of events, including a night-time exhibition of projected photos placed into the surroundings where they were originally taken.
This closing event brings together the participants and revisits the collection alongside the artist’s own images and those taken during the project.
