SSHoP Annual Photographer's Lecture: Pradip Malde

Scottish National Gallery

02 Nov, 6pm

Illusion, Transformation and Truth - Pradip Malde is a widely published and exhibited photographic artist whose diverse practice and considerable expertise covers many genres and technical processes. His work is in the collections of numerous institutions worldwide and he is Professor of Art at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. Malde will talk about some of the overarching themes in his photographic work. Spanning over thirty years, and moving from still life to portraiture to documentary approaches, he has considered very personal realms of experience against broader social and political grounds. His work has always been entwined with his work as an educator, and the lecture will consider the matter of education and photography.
